Challenges, confusion and opportunities

April 1 to 15, 2012 Astrology Forecast

Grand Cross April 1 to May 19, 2012 brings emotionalism and challenges.

Neptune, Mars and the Moon’s Nodes form a Grand Cross in the sky, indicating excess emotionalism, confusion and challenges.  I prefer the word challenges to other words I might use, as challenges can be overcome and can encourage drive and achievement.

Neptune in Pisces has a hard time focusing on worldly matters.  It can be imaginative, spiritual, caring and wanting to provide service to other people and animals, but it can also be easily deceived.

Mars in Virgo wants to get work done, but it tends to worry and be overly critical.  And then when Mars opposes (is about 180 degrees from) Neptune, it can have unrealistic expectations, further exacerbating those qualities of worrying and being hypercritical.  During this time we need to pay attention to our surroundings and work on seeing situations and people they way they really are, not how we hope them to be.  We should be on guard against accidents, negative thinking, worry, poisoning, and escapism, possibly through drugs and alcohol.  Artistic and creative pursuits and service are good ways to channel this energy.

To further add to the potency of this energy between Mars and Neptune, the Moon’s Nodes get into the action and are squaring (about 90 degrees from) the opposition of Mars and Neptune.  Moon’s Nodes are where the Moon’s path crosses the Earth’s path around the Sun.  There are two Nodes, where the Moon’s path goes North of the Earth’s path, and then when it goes South of the Earth’s path.  Vedic astrologers attach enormous power to them and think they are active whenever events happen that are noticed all over the world.

Grand Cross brings confusion and challenges to work, love and money matters from April 1 to April 14, 2012.

And then, to top it all off, Venus is very close to the Moon’s South Node, and is squaring Neptune and Mars, until April 14, 2012.  Venus, the planet of money, social life and love is not thinking clearly and may be overly needy.  This is not an especially good time to buy expensive items unless they are necessary, and then do your homework to make sure you are getting what you think you are.  It can also be a confusing time for relationships.  This is not a good time to make any decisions about relationships as you may not have all the information you need and may not be thinking clearly.

The effects of Mercury Retrograde through April 23, 2012.

Get rid of clutter from 10:17 a.m. Central Daylight Time April 7, 2012 through 10:12 a.m. April 9, 2012.

Many people have been telling me that they have been using the times that the Moon is in Scorpio to get rid of clutter and it helps.  The Moon is in Scorpio during these two days, and that means it is a good time to get rid of what no longer serves you, from those old coupons in your junk drawer to anyone whose negativity dampens your spirits.

Great for new beginnings and multiple streams of income February 1 to April 10, 2012.

The Great Benefic, Jupiter, is in a lucky trine (about 120 degrees from) Pluto, making this a great time for new projects and new beginnings.  These planets bring big money to people who have prosperity consciousness, optimism and self-confidence.  Don’t listen to people who have a consciousness of poverty—get out there and use this planetary energy for your benefit.

Good for new beginnings, physical energy and hard work February 28 to May 31, 2012.

Energetic Mars trines (is about 120 degrees from) Pluto, making this a good time to aggressively start new projects, and work hard to accomplish goals.  Pluto is connected to elimination—get rid of junk and clutter.   This is a great time for spring cleaning.

Major transformations February 27, 2012 to June 13, 2015.

Uranus and Pluto are so far from the Sun that they take a long time to go around the Sun and through the signs of the zodiac.  When they form angles with other outer planets, those aspects are in effect for a long time.  Uranus and Pluto form a square aspect (are about 90 degrees from each other) for more than three years, forming an underlying background for the other planetary aspects.  We will not notice their effect every day of this period, but we will notice major changes that can be attributable to these planets.  Uranus brings the unpredictable, the unusual and the eccentric.  It is a very freedom-loving planet and it can be rebellious and strong-willed.  Pluto is explosive, powerful and eliminates what is no longer needed.   Uranus is in Aries, a strong and independent sign, and Pluto is in Capricorn, which rules structures, laws and governments.  During this three-year period, we will see upheavals, struggles, revolutions, rebellions, unusual weather patterns and abrupt earth changes—volcanoes and earthquakes.

Great for artistic pursuits and listening to your intuition October 23, 2011 to April 12, 2012.

Saturn is an earthy planet, bringing stability and reliability to whatever it touches.  Saturn trines (is about 120 degrees from) ethereal Neptune, which means it is a great time to work on and finish artistic projects and use your intuition to benefit your life.  Listen to your hunches.  This aspect is great for being able to use psychic ability.

Good news for the economy and for you.

Jupiter is in Taurus where it will remain until June 11, 2012.  Long-lasting aspects bring slow results, but over time, hard work and patience can create good outcomes.  Jupiter brings blessings, opportunities, luck and expansion, and Taurus is a financial sign.   Taurus is also slow moving, conservative and patient.  Jupiter enlarges what it touches, so inflation may be part of the picture.  Jupiter in Taurus is a fortunate time for making money if you are prudent and don’t expect to get rich overnight.  I expect that the people who already have big money will continue to make big bonuses.  With Jupiter in this sign, YOU should take advantage of opportunities to enlarge your financial picture.  Do you have the money you want?  If not, what do you need to do to get it?  Are you doing what you need to do?  Do you have multiple sources of income?

Astrology Forecast March 16 to 31, 2012

March 16 to 31, 2012 Astrology Forecast

With all the unpredictable weather, uprisings, discord and other stressors happening during this intense time of shift in the world, I hope you read about all the pleasant and fortunate aspects the sky has in store for us during the next two weeks and take advantage of them.

Mercury Retrograde March 12, 2012 to April 4, 2012

For more information about Mercury Retrograde and what you can expect for it, go to the Mercury Retrograde button at www.DianneLawson.com.

Out-of-the-ordinary conversations, mental pursuits and travel March 1 to March 25, 2012.

With Mercury, the planet of communication, intellectual pursuits and travel, very close in the sky to Uranus, the planet of change, unpredictability and originality, this is an interesting time for writers to write, students to study and everyone to take trips.  Be careful not to let words slip out of your mouth that are better left unsaid.  Be flexible while traveling and allow for changes in your schedule.  This is a good time to write original pieces and edit, but wait until Mercury goes direct on April 4, 2012 to submit to new publishers.

Inner battles, change of attitudes needed from March 6 to 17, 2012.

Mercury is about 90 degrees from Pluto, indicating possible pressure and stress with usual ways of dealing with life.  Looking at deep-rooted problems honestly can bring about a new outlook on life.  Take care with communication and travel.  Be slow to speak and allow extra time for transportation.

.

A fortunate Grand Trine March 2 to March 26, 2012.

Mars, Jupiter and Pluto form a Grand Trine configuration in the sky during these days.  Each of the three planets is about 120 degrees from the other two, creating a lucky, helpful and beneficial time for us to get going to create the reality we want.  These planets are all in earth signs, which are practical and able to accomplish in the physical world, especially concerning money, possessions, work and career.  Steady progress brings great results.

Great time for enjoying life and taking up opportunities March 6 to March 23, 2012.

Venus, the Lesser Benefic, and Jupiter, the Greater Benefic, are close to each other in the sky during these days.  Since they are easily visible to the naked eye, look to see them together in the western sky in the evenings.  These planets bring opportunities for beauty, pleasure, enjoyment and entertaining.

Even better March 16 to March 18, 2012.

Benevolent Venus joins in the lucky Grand Trine as mentioned just above when it gets all close and comfy to Jupiter.  This is a wonderful time to focus on the material world, work hard and accomplish much.

Happy Spring March 20, 2012.

The Sun enters Aries on March 20 this year, starting the astrological New Year and the first day of Spring.  It is close to Mercury and Uranus, making this an energetic, unpredictable and versatile day.  Take time for some fun.

On March 23, 2012, the Sun and the Moon join Uranus, adding even more energy to this aspect.

March 1 to 15, 2012 Astrology Forecast

March 1 to 15, 2012 Astrology Forecast

Mercury Retrograde already?

From time to time, each of the planets appears to go in backward motion across the signs of the zodiac, depending upon the relative positions of the earth and the planet.  That apparent backward motion is called retrograde motion.

When Mercury is retrograde, it is a good time to renew, revise, refurbish, rethink, redo and get rid of anything that no longer serves you.  As a Feng Shui consultant, I am always happy when the planets are helping us get rid of clutter.

Whenever Mercury is retrograde, communications, contracts, machines and travel plans may go awry.  For ordinary life, including communications, contracts and travel, I pay little or no attention to when Mercury is retrograde.  I do, however, pay close attention to when Mercury is retrograde for important communicating, contract signing and passport vacation traveling.   I will continue to go about my daily life and do what needs to be done, but I will not send any manuscripts to new publishers under a Mercury retrograde period.

Under Mercury Retrograde, take extra care while communicating with others.  Make sure that everyone understands what the plans and expectations are.  Signing important contracts to buy expensive items, applying for or starting a new job, or sending a manuscript to a new publisher may come to naught, have to be redone, or be short-lived.  If you travel when Mercury is retrograde, make allowances for changes in schedules and allow extra time to arrive.  Mercury also rules telephones, computers, printers, machines and cars, so do everything you can to have them in good running order before Mercury goes retrograde.

Even though Mercury is not yet retrograde, it may already be affecting us.  The effects of Mercury Retrograde are felt before and after the planet actually goes backwards through the signs of the zodiac as seen from the earth.  These times before and after Mercury Retrograde are called shadow periods.  A shadow period begins when Mercury is at the same degree of the zodiac where it will later go in forward motion again.  A later shadow period is when Mercury starts going forwards again but is not yet at the same degree of the zodiac as it was when it first started going backwards.  Astrologers differ in their beliefs about shadow periods, but I think the shadow periods are not as strong as the actual retrograde periods.  I will sign important contracts in shadow periods but not in retrograde periods.

Watch and see for yourself how important the shadow periods are compared to the actual Mercury Retrograde periods.

February 27, 2012 Mercury enters the shadow period

March 12, 2102 Mercury goes retrograde

April 4, 2012 Mercury goes in forward motion

April 23, 2012 Mercury is out of the shadow

Take advantage of out-of-the-ordinary conversations, mental pursuits and travel March 1 to March 25, 2012.

An added bonus is from March 2 to March 25, 2012 when Mars joins these planets in a Grand Trine configuration in the sky.  Each of the three planets is about 120 degrees from the other two, creating a lucky, helpful and beneficial time for us to get going to create the reality we want.

Disappointments, loneliness and unhappiness possible February 27 to March 7, 2012.

With Venus, the planet of love and social life, opposite Saturn in the sky, some may feel that their relationships may not be meeting their needs.  Relationships are a mirror of who we are and this is a good time to reflect on how we are choosing people to be in our lives and how we are meeting their needs.  If we are not seeing eye-to-eye with someone, maybe we might try to look and see how the other is seeing us.

Important astrological event

February 16 to 29, 2012 Astrology Forecast
An important astrological event happens this month.
Neptune enters its own sign, Pisces, where it travels for the next 14 years. Planets are especially powerful when they are in their own signs. Neptune and Pisces rule (are associated with) spirituality, hypnotism, psychiatry, compassion, idealism, art, music, literature, creativity, entertainment, drugs, escapism, confusion, water, oceans, oil, gas and toxic items. Because Neptune is so far from the Sun, it travels through the signs of the zodiac slowly and indicates major cultural shifts.
The last time Neptune was in the sign Pisces, from 1848 to 1862, the spiritual movement was in full steam, as was hypnotism and psychiatry. Under this Neptune transit in Pisces, I expect that many people will delve into understanding the hidden parts of their mind and will be involved in hypnotism, guided imagery, psychiatry and other forms of self- discovery.
Neptune also rules compassion and idealism and the world certainly needs more of these now. Under Neptune in Pisces, idealism may not be grounded in reality, but in wishful thinking. The American Civil War started and The Communist Manifesto was written under Neptune in Pisces. Interestingly, slavery and the proletariat are both connected to Neptune and Pisces. The Civil War and the manifesto both were born of compassion and high ideals, whether we agree with them or not. Under this transit of Neptune in Pisces, I expect that many causes will be important to people with high ideals, regardless of whether or not we think they are based in reality.
New forms of art, music and literature will become significant. New forms of entertainment will be more and more important and allow people to escape the real world. People will spend more time in virtual realities. I expect marijuana to become legal.
Neptune is hard to understand and deal with. During this transit of Neptune through Pisces, people will feel confused and won’t know which options to take. Astrologers and others will be very busy helping people sort through the Neptunian fog.
Neptune and Pisces rule water, oceans, oil, gas, chemicals and toxic items, meaning these will be even more important in the news. Gas costs will skyrocket. My son Josh says we might want to consider buying bikes.
Children born during this time may be psychic, psychologically aware, artistic, musically inclined and creative. They should be encouraged to develop these abilities.
The last time Neptune was in Pisces, psychiatrists Sigmund Freud, Herrmann Rorschach and Karen Horney were born. Also, artists Paul Gauguin, Vincent Van Gogh, Georges Pierre Seurat and Grandma Moses. So were writers James Whitcomb Riley, Guy de Maupassant, Robert Louis Stevenson, Arthur Rimbaud, L. Frank Baum, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, Joseph Conrad, Havelock Ellis, Arthur Conan Doyle, A. E. Houseman, Knut Hamsun, Anton Chekhov and Edith Wharton. And composers John Philip Sousa and G. Mahler, opera singer Nellie Melba and actress Lillian Russell.
Helpful planetary aspects for writing, studying and mental work February 10 to 16, 2012.
Mercury, the planet of writing, studying and thinking, is in a nice, helpful trine to serious, responsible Saturn, making this a great time to settle down and get to work in those areas of life.
Moderation needed in financial and love affairs February 12 to 19, 2012.
Venus is in a challenging square (about 90 degrees from) Pluto. Both of these planets correspond with finances, so take care and don’t overspend. Pluto is intense and can cause havoc with love. This can be a difficult time with relationships and a time of endings and new beginnings in personal affairs.
Tendency to be high-strung, irritable, fault-finding and quick-tempered February 20 to 25, 2012
With fiery, energetic Mars opposite (about 180 degrees from) Mercury, the planet of mental processes and communication, we all might want to work on controlling our thoughts and words. As Mercury also corresponds to travel, slow down and take care while driving and walking.
Expect the unexpected February 18 to 23, 2012
Astrologers pay attention to the aspects (angles or degrees of separation) the Sun, the Moon and planets make to each other. When a planet makes no aspects to another planet, it is unusual and the planet will express itself fully. Uranus makes no aspects during these six days. Uranus is connected to the unexpected, freedom, revolution, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes and technology. These subjects make the news.
Good for new beginnings, physical energy and hard work February 28 to May 31, 2012
Energetic Mars trines (is about 120 degrees from) Pluto, making this a good time to aggressively start new projects, and work hard to accomplish goals. Pluto is connected to elimination—get rid of junk and clutter.
Opposing viewpoints until February 20, 2012.
Jupiter continues its long-term opposition to (is about 180 degrees from) Saturn, showing opposition between people who feel optimistic and those who feel fearful. Oppositions often mean that people see situations in totally opposite ways and find little or nothing to compromise about. Since this is a long-term aspect, it will be interesting to watch how it plays out in politics in the United States and between countries. This aspect can bring much contention, difficulty and discord. As always, we have the choice to respectfully disagree.

Fuhgetaboudit

Fuhgetaboudit
February 1 to 15, 2012 Astrology Forecast
If you want a boring, peaceful and quiet time during the first two weeks of this month, fuhgetaboudit. This month has lots of planetary aspects with challenges and opportunities. Keep reading to see what is in store for you and others.
Strain in emotional relationships February 1 to 5, 2012.
Venus will be opposite (about 180 degrees from) Mars during these days, bringing possible hypersensitivity, propensity for quarrels and discontent. If you can’t understand someone else’s viewpoint, at least respect it and agree to disagree.
Great for new beginnings and multiple streams of income February 1 to April 10.
The Great Benefic, Jupiter, is in a lucky trine (about 120 degrees from) Pluto, making this a great time for new projects and new beginnings. These planets can be fortunate for big money for people who have prosperity consciousness, optimism and self-confidence.
Excitement, unpredictability and eccentricity possible February 4 to 15, 2012.
Wild Uranus is very close to the planet of love, Venus, bringing the element of the unexpected to relationships. If controlled, it can be exciting, but don’t take foolhardy risks.
Helpful planetary aspects for writing, studying and mental work February 10 to 16, 2012.
The planet of writing, studying and thinking, Mercury, is in a nice, helpful trine to serious, responsible Saturn, making this a great time to settle down and get to work in those areas of life.
Success possible through hard work, patience and being responsible February 11 to 13, 2012.
Beginning astrology students often don’t recognize how wonderful Saturn can be. Saturn is the planet of hard work, responsibility, patience and self-discipline. Although these attributes don’t sound fun, they do bring solid successes and earned rewards. Saturn trines the Sun during these days, helping us achieve our goals.
Get rid of clutter from 4:01p.m. Central Time February 12, 2012 through 6:56 p.m. Central Time February 14, 2012.
The Moon is in Scorpio during these two and a half days and that means it is a good time to get rid of what no longer serves you, from those old coupons in your junk drawer to anyone whose negativity dampens your spirits. One of the most important things I tell people when I do a Feng Shui consultation is to get rid of clutter. I define clutter as anything that you do not love, want or use. If you haven’t used it in more than a year, it might be a good idea to throw it away, give it away or sell it.

This aspect can bring much contention, difficulty and discord. As always, we have the choice to respectfully disagree.

Challenges, clutter, communication and more

January 16 to 31, 2012 Astrology Forecast

The year of 2012 is challenging for our country with unpredictable and unexpected tests.  Our economy has ups and downs.

Astrologers have many ways to forecast.  One way is called secondary progressions—when an astrologer draws up a map of the heavens for as many days after birth as a person is in years.  For example, if a person is 27 years old, the map of the heavens is made for 27 days after the person’s birth.  The theory is that there is a connection or a correlation between the small and the large.  Kind of like the connection or correlation between the smaller you and the larger heavens.  You can also progress a country’s astrology chart.

In the United States’ progressed astrology chart, the Sun is exactly 90 degrees—a hard aspect--from Uranus.  The Sun rules the leader of the country, as well as other persons in power and authority.  It also shows the will of the people.  Uranus is unpredictable, erratic and freedom-loving.  It rules hurricanes, tornadoes, volcanoes, earthquakes and unusual weather.   Since the Sun is in the section of the country’s chart that rules home, and Uranus is in the section that rules enemies, our enemies cause dramatic challenges for us.

In addition to the above, transiting Uranus in the sky this year continues its slow and long-lasting visit through our country’s eighth house of money, causing ups and downs in our economy.  This year it is in the exact degree of the zodiac as our country’s birth Venus and Jupiter, adding even more power to upsets and changes.  Since Uranus rules new technology, that is one area of the economy that can prosper.  Old ways of doing business get shaken up.

Get rid of clutter from 10:33 a.m. Central Time January 16, 2012 through 1:28 p.m. Central Time January 18, 2012.

Many people have been telling me that they have been using the times that the Moon is in Scorpio to get rid of clutter and it helps.  The Moon in Scorpio during these two and a half days means it is a good time to get rid of what no longer serves you, from those old coupons in your junk drawer to anyone whose negativity dampens your spirits.  One of the most important things I tell people when I do a Feng Shui consultation is to get rid of clutter.  I define clutter as anything that you do not love, want or use.  If you haven’t used it in more than a year, it might be a good idea to throw it away, give it away or sell it.

Communications are intense January 16 and 17, 2012.

With Mercury the planet of communication sitting very close in the sky with passionate and forceful Pluto, it’s a good time for expressing your deep thoughts, but be careful not to let conversations get out of hand.  Don’t even try to change another’s beliefs.

Love, social life, money and possessions flourish if you use reason January 8 to 18, 2012.

Venus, the planet of love, social life, money and possessions has two aspects during these days.  One is a steadying trine to Saturn.  If you make sure that you use common sense and also that the person you are interested in is worthy of you, it can be wonderful for love and social life.  Buying expensive, long-lasting items can bring you much pleasure if you do your homework before buying them.

The other aspect is a conjunction to Neptune (about 0 degrees from each other).  Neptune can be romance, unconditional love, spiritual love or self-deceit or deceit from another.  With Neptune it can be very hard to tell the difference until after the aspect is over.  Listen to what your family members, friends and astrologer say about the other person before you throw caution to the winds.

Disagreements until February 20, 2012.

Good news for the economy and for you.

I realize that this seems to contradict what I wrote earlier about the country having an erratic financial time this year.
